Sentinel Keep
Unfiltered thoughts, testing results, and reviews by a civ, for a civ.
Sentinel Keep is a civilian-led project started in June 2025, built around a simple idea:
Real-world preparedness. Gear, training, and lessons learned, by a civ, for civs.
I'm a software engineer by trade, but middle American and farm-raised at heart. Not ex-military or law enforcement. Just someone who values being capable and informed. Sentinel Keep is where I share what I'm learning, testing, and thinking through as I build skills and figure things out along the way.
More than just a blog, Sentinel Keep is about fostering a community of prepared civilians. I welcome feedback, advice, corrections, and criticism. It helps me grow, and it helps make this resource better for everyone.
What This Project Covers
- Gear Reviews – Firearms, optics, lights, armor, and everything in between.
- Training Logs – Notes from range days, classes, drills, and mistakes made.
- Preparedness Concepts – From everyday carry to home defense to long-term planning.
- Unfiltered Thoughts – No brand loyalty, no sponsors pulling strings.
Funding & Support
Sentinel Keep is supported through:
- Ads – Kept minimal and relevant.
- Affiliate Links – Some gear links may earn a small commission, at no extra cost to you.
- Sponsorships – Clearly marked when present. If it's sponsored, you'll know.
- Paid Subscriptions – For readers who want deeper dives and early access.
- Donations – Optional, but always appreciated.
This helps cover the cost of ammo, gear, and time spent testing and writing.
Why This Exists
Sentinel Keep wasn't founded to reinvent the wheel, but to contribute to an ongoing conversation around preparedness. It exists as a place to share practical insights, lessons learned, and gear evaluations with the broader civilian community.
The aim is simple: support everyday people who want to be more capable, informed, and ready for what life throws at them.
If you want to get in touch, suggest gear to test, or just talk shop, reach out. You can also join our Discord community to connect with others and be part of the conversation.
Stay sharp.
